Friday morning we went to our doctors appointment at the women's clinic, which is also located in the hospital. The doctor came in and let me know that Declan's anatomy scan looked good and that nothing looked wrong or abnormal. We checked his heart beat and everything looked good, he even had some fluid; about 2cm. The doctor talked to me about being admitted to the hospital for the next 48 hours to receive antibiotics. He said that in studies it shows that receiving the antibiotics at 20 weeks, which I made on Friday, tends to increase the duration of the pregnancy. I felt a lot better with this visit, because it seemed like he either did some extra research, or started sharing more information with me in general. It was the first time I felt like he cared about the baby and thought there was some hope.

We went out through the waiting room to get Travis and head up to the labor and delivery ward. They got our room ready, we were introduced to our nurse, and we were all set for the weekend. I can't remember the nurse's name, but she was one of the better ones that I have had in this experience. I told her my worries about getting another IV since my last one was almost immediately blown. She made sure to use a smaller needle and looked for a good vein. She managed to give me the best IV that I have ever had. I never felt it after the initial stick. She took labs, gave us a menu for lunch and dinner, and pretty much left us to ourselves.

Now to the "All Inclusive Deluxe" part. I lied about that. The hospital has no wifi, which is why I am writing this after getting out, the food was near inedible, and basic cable does not compare to my spoiled life of Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. The burgers weren't bad, but they also ran out of virtually everything we would try and order, and the rest just was very upsetting. Luckily Travis was able to head out to get me some food. Pretty much all was going as good as it could be during this time. The doctor came in to talk to me a bit before shift change, and he let me know that I should still be expecting a call from Anchorage.

Saturday was mostly fine. Around 9 PM I started bleeding again. It was a good bit, bright red, and not mixed with any fluid. I hadn't bleed since the previous Sunday, so this really set me back. I also started to cramp a bit. I called the nurse in and she let us know it was pretty normal, and not too much. I got some Tylenol and went to sleep. I got pretty decent rest besides the dream I had about them removing my IV only to find it was a foot long needle in my arm.

Sunday morning the doctor came in to let me know I was being discharged. We did another ultrasound on Declan to make sure everything was okay still and that my placenta was still attached and not the cause of the bleeding. It still all looked good. I slept for a while longer and our nurse from our first visit came in. She is the one who was the first person to really show us some positivity, so it was nice to see her again. For the record, her name is Carly and she is the only person who's name I remember because of the impression she left on me. She asked me if I wanted to check on Declan's heart beat one more time before we left and of course I said yes. We also talked about how much blood constitutes as "a lot," because it all seems like a lot to me. She also put in the system that I was still bleeding at that a blood clot came out as well.

I got to take a shower before we left, and Carly grabbed me a wheel chair so I didn't have to walk through the hospital like last time. She even escorted us out so we didn't get lost. We talked about Mavis and how I am worried about her since we can't send her back to Louisiana due to the travel ban. She told us that she has a dachshund, and offered to watch Mavis if we need so we exchanged information.

Travis and I decided to go back to our house and not our friends house. We had another friend go stay there for the weekend with Mavis and he gave us the all clear that it was no longer flooding. So now we are all set up in the house, back to waiting. I am still bleeding, but it doesn't seem as bad as it was this morning or yesterday, and the cramps are gone. I am taking antibiotics 3 times a day for at least a week now. We should hear from the hospital here to set up an appointment for Friday just to do a check up, and I am hoping to hear from Anchorage as well. I guess our next goal is to make it to 21 weeks on Friday.

Here is a 20 week bump picture, also. I didn't take an 18 or 19 week picture because of how everything was, and my belly went down a good bit. It seems like it is back to the size of my 17 week bump, maybe slightly bigger. I am so grateful to have a 20 week bump picture.
